Consent

Online consent has become so meaningless. The constant cookie popups. It's coercive.

JD Davids on writing and consent:

And then I said, well why is it that we do not get consent from ourselves to write? Why do we force ourselves into these self-imposed requirements to write every day, to write a certain amount?

I walked around the room and asked everyone to say NO to me. Then I asked them to write for 2 minutes, filling a piece of paper with the word NO over and over and over. Finally, I led a visualization where I narrated a body scan from head to toes and asked everyone to find the places in themselves that did not want to be seen, or entered, or written about. I gave them paper to draw an empty space, to represent those parts, and then invited them to write or draw whatever they wanted outside that space.
